Gallery: Opening of the Exhibition “NO DOUBT ABOUT IT” in Venice
Alongside the official program of the Architecture Biennale, the exhibition “No Doubt About It” is also on display in Venice until November 23, featuring a 1:30 scale model of the Wagner Theatre as one of its central exhibits.
The exhibition was opened on May 8 of this year, with representatives from the Riga Richard Wagner Society and Zaiga Gaile’s office in attendance. The exhibition was also visited by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, Agnese Lāce.
The exhibition’s curator, New York-based architect Vladimir Belogolovsky, explains that the aim of this showcase is to draw attention to six high-quality project concepts and design strategies that have emerged through experimentation with intuitive ideas and, perhaps, initial doubts. Visitors will be introduced to the designs of three theaters, two museums, and one residential complex.
In addition to the Wagner Theatre model developed by Zaiga Gaile’s office, the exhibition features architectural projects from Armenia, China, Georgia, Germany, and Poland. No Doubt About It will be on display throughout the entire duration of the Architecture Biennale, until November 23, and is hosted at the Magazzino Gallery—a contemporary art space located in Palazzo Contarini Polignac, next to the Grand Canal in Venice and just steps away from the Gallerie dell’Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
